What is Procrastination?

Do you regularly put off important tasks to a later time?
Are you often found yourself “fiddling around” when you know you should be working, studying or doing something more than “fiddling around”?
If so, chances are very good you are procrastinating.

So What is Procrastination?

According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia…
In psychology, procrastination refers to the act of replacing high-priority actions with tasks of low-priority, and thus putting off important tasks to a later time.
But perhaps this short video clip more clearly answers the question, “what is procrastination?”

Bottom line…
Procrastination is a habit that can keep you broke. Physically, mentally, spiritually and financially.
Procrastination is often a symptom of a some deep underlying issue like anxiety, low sense of self-worth, and a self-defeating mentality.
Think fear. Feelings of being “less than” and guilt.
Think self-sabotage.
Here are three quick tips to help you stop procrastinating:

Stop Planning and Get Started Now

Every project, campaign or process should be planned out with a goal in mind. But a lot of over-thinking and over-planning can have negative. There is no such thing as a “perfect plan” so outline “a” plan and get started now.

Reduce Tasks to the Next Step

If you have a pile of papers on your desk, take the first paper of the top of the pile and start there.
To get started, just take the first step. To finish, just take the next step, then the next and the next until you the task is completed.

Just make a decision. Any decision.

When you procrastinate you want to do something but you don’t take the action that is in alignment with that thought. You become conflicted within.
Easiest thing to do? Make a decision.
